Life in Maroc: Young Dutch Founders Put AI to Work on the Hunt for a Home in Morocco

A young team in the Netherlands says its AI-powered property search is taking the guesswork out of buying a home in Morocco. The early-stage startup is currently valued at around €500,000.

Looking for a home in Morocco usually means a lot of scrolling. Listings are scattered across portals such as Avito and Mubawab, social media groups and individual agents, with duplicates everywhere and the best properties often gone before you find them. A young Dutch startup, Life in Maroc, is betting that artificial intelligence can fix that.

A search engine that does the scrolling

The pitch is simple: tell it where you want to live, what you can spend and what you like, and it does the rest. According to the company, its platform scans the market every day, filters out what does not fit, and sends an email alert within about 30 seconds of a matching property going online, with photos, details and the agent's contact information where available.

The product is aimed at a clear audience: people in the Netherlands and across Europe with ties to Morocco who want to buy a home there, often from a distance and often without the time to monitor several marketplaces every day.

The numbers the company reports

Life in Maroc says it currently tracks more than 1,200 properties across over 40 cities and coastal towns, from Tangier to Agadir and Dakhla, and counts more than 2,850 active searchers. On its own site, 263 buyers rate the service 4.8 out of 5. These figures are supplied by the company and have not been independently verified.

Searching is free for users. Alongside the alerts, the platform publishes a buying guide that explains what purchasing in Morocco costs, and highlights new-build projects, including offers it advertises of up to €9,200 off.

Small valuation, clear focus

Life in Maroc is early-stage. The company is currently valued at around €500,000, a modest figure that reflects a young team with a narrowly defined product rather than a broad platform. What makes it notable is the focus: instead of building yet another generic property portal, the founders apply AI to one specific, fragmented market where information is hard to compare.

It is a pattern that is becoming familiar in AI: smaller teams using the technology not to build the next general-purpose model, but to solve a stubborn everyday problem for a specific community. Whether that proves a durable business will depend on how well the company keeps its listings fresh and its alerts relevant as it grows.
